Secondary Air Purification for

- 1900 Lawrence is designed to incorporate a secondary air purification technology called Bipolar Ionization, which attacks airborne and surface-deposited pathogens and pollutants
- Bipolar Ionization systems induce positive and negative ions into the air delivered throughout the building; the ions have been shown to inactivate viral and bacterial pathogens, as well as clean harmful pollutants from the airstream
- The ions in the airstream cause production of OH radicals, which have been shown in Lab testing to attack viral cells by removing Hydrogen atoms from the viral cell wall, thereby inactivating the virus
- Unlike other alternatives, the ionized air disperses throughout the common areas and tenant premises, actively cleaning not only the air but surfaces within occupied space
- Extensive manufacturer testing has looked specifically at performance for viruses such as Covid-19, and there is extensive academic literature on the impacts of ionized air on pathogens
